Position Overview:
As a Digital & Creative Communications Intern, you’ll play a key role in helping us develop and implement engaging online content, social media strategies, and creative campaigns, strengthening the unit’s effort.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in creating and scheduling social media content across various platforms.
  2. Help monitor and respond to social media comments and messages.
  3. Contribute to the development of creative campaigns and strategies.
  4. Assist in writing and editing blog posts, press releases, and other communications materials.
  5. Collaborate with the team to brainstorm new ideas and concepts.
  6. Analyze social media metrics and provide insights for future content optimization.

Requirements:

  1. Currently enrolled in a degree program (e.g., Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Design) or recent graduate.
  2. Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and their respective audiences.
  3. Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  4. Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  7. Familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite Insights, Google Analytics).

Stakeholder Engagement and Influence:

1. Collaborate with the technical teams to craft narratives that communicate the impact of AHFID’s work to stakeholders, including donors and partners.

2. Develop strategies to engage and grow online audiences, including donors, development partners, and the general public.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

• Creative thinking with a strong eye for detail and design.

• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid working model: 2-3 days in-office work per week.

• Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours during critical projects or events.

Would be nice to Have:

  1. Experience with content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms.
  2. Knowledge of SEO principles and how to apply them to online content.
  3. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
