About the Role
Africa Hub for Innovation and Development (AHFID) is a strategy, innovation, and implementation support organization working across health, gender, youth empowerment, social enterprise, and systems strengthening in Africa.
AHFID is currently supporting the Green Girl Foundation (GGF) through a critical transition from a project-based initiative into a sustainable, standalone social enterprise with diversified funding streams, institutional credibility, and long-term impact.
To support this transition and to strengthen AHFID’s wider funding portfolio, we are seeking a high-performing Grant & Fundraising Specialist with a strong business development orientation to lead aggressive, strategic, and diversified resource mobilization efforts.
This role is central to driving financial sustainability, unlocking public, private, and philanthropic capital, and positioning both GGF and AHFID as fundable, investment-ready institutions.
Role Summary
The Grant & Fundraising Specialist will own and drive the fundraising and business development function across: AHFID-led initiatives and consulting engagements , Green Girl Foundation portfolio and other diverse portfolio
The role combines grant acquisition, private-sector engagement, CSR partnerships, proposal development, donor relationship management, and fundraising innovation. The Specialist will be expected to pursue funding aggressively, strategically, and systematically, moving beyond ad-hoc applications to a pipeline-driven approach.
This is a specialist-level, results-oriented role with high accountability for funding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Fundraising & Resource Mobilization (Core Function)
- Lead the design and execution of an aggressive fundraising strategy for the Green Girl Foundation, aligned with its transition to a social enterprise.
- Build and manage a diversified funding pipeline covering:
- Institutional donors (bilateral, multilateral, foundations)
- Private sector & CSR funding
- Corporate philanthropy and sponsorships
- Innovation and challenge funds
- Institutional donors (bilateral, multilateral, foundations)
- Identify, track, and prioritize high-value funding opportunities across public and private sectors.
- Maintain a live grant and fundraising pipeline dashboard with clear targets and timelines.
2. Grant Writing & Proposal Development
- Lead or coordinate the development of high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, expressions of interest (EOIs), and pitch decks
- Customize proposals for different donor typologies (foundations, corporates, multilateral agencies).
- Ensure proposals are technically sound, compliant, competitive, and aligned with donor priorities.
- Support budget development and cost narratives in collaboration with finance and program teams.
3. Private Sector & CSR Engagement
- Proactively engage the private sector, including:
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) departments
- Corporate foundations
- Impact-driven businesses
- Develop CSR partnership packages linked to gender empowerment, youth development, sustainability, and social innovation.
- Explore non-traditional funding avenues, including:
- Corporate innovation challenges
- Cause-marketing partnerships
- Strategic sponsorships
- Position GGF and AHFID as credible partners for long-term corporate collaboration.
4. Donor Relationship & Account Management
- Cultivate and manage relationships with donors, partners, and funders.
- Coordinate donor engagement meetings, presentations, and follow-ups.
- Support grant negotiation, contracting, and reporting processes.
- Work closely with program and M&E teams to translate impact data into compelling donor narratives.
5. Business Development for AHFID Portfolio
- Support fundraising and proposal development across AHFID’s broader portfolio, including:
- Institutional strengthening projects
- Health, gender, and youth initiatives
- Innovation and AI-for-development programs
- Institutional strengthening projects
- Contribute to AHFID’s business development strategy, including opportunity scanning and market positioning.
- Support partnership development with NGOs, think tanks, and consortia.
6. Fundraising Innovation & Systems
- Introduce innovative fundraising approaches, including:
- Digital fundraising strategies
- Strategic storytelling and donor engagement
- Pipeline automation and CRM tools
- Support development of Cases for Support, investment decks, and donor-ready materials.
- Strengthen internal systems for grant tracking, compliance, and learning.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (required) in:International Development, Public Health, Social Sciences, Economics, Development Finance or a closely related field
(Candidates currently enrolled in a PhD program are also eligible.)

Required Experience
- Minimum 4–7 years of demonstrable experience in:
- Grant writing and proposal development
- Fundraising or resource mobilization
- Business development within NGOs, development consulting, or social enterprises
- Proven track record of successfully securing grants or donor funding.
- Experience working with institutional donors and/or private sector funders.
- Familiarity with donor compliance, reporting, and grant management processes.

Video Editor & Content Innovation Associate (Video Editing, Animation, VFX & AI-Powered Content Creation)

Role Overview
The Visual Storytelling & Multimedia Innovation Associate will be the creative engine behind AHFID’s growing visual and digital storytelling portfolio. From mini-documentaries and program highlights, to social reels, animated explainers, motion graphics, photography, and AI-enhanced media, you will craft content that inspires, educates, and influences.
You must be a highly skilled video editor and motion designer with fluency in VFX, animation, and generative AI tools, and possess a strong visual eye, technical mastery, and a strategic understanding of narrative communication. This role also demands proficiency in photography, creative ideation, and multi-platform content strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Content Production
- Conceptualize, storyboard, film (as needed), edit, and produce high-impact videos, short films, and reels aligned with AHFID’s strategic priorities.
- Develop branded content, testimonials, skits, training visuals, and digital stories for campaigns, reports, events, and external engagement.
- Design and execute motion graphics, kinetic typography, animated explainers, and multimedia storytelling packages.
Advanced Video Editing & VFX
- Lead high-level post-production editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Davinci Resolve.
- Apply sophisticated visual effects (VFX) and cinematic treatments using After Effects, Blender, or similar.
- Ensure audio mixing, grading, transitions, and dynamic edits meet global production standards.
AI & Creative Innovation
- Leverage AI-based content tools (Runway ML, Pika Labs, Descript, ElevenLabs, D-ID, Adobe Firefly, etc.) to enhance editing workflows and create innovative outputs.
- Explore and implement AI-generated content and voiceovers, avatar animation, image generation, and scene augmentation where appropriate.
- Stay up to date with generative AI trends and tools to optimize content pipelines.
Photography & Visual Asset Creation
- Conduct high-quality photography for events, field activities, and professional portraits.
- Edit and curate photo collections, develop visual libraries, and support graphic content needs (e.g., thumbnails, banners, slide decks).
Content Strategy & Collaboration
- Collaborate with program teams, executive office, and partners to understand visual storytelling needs and content goals.
- Manage creative content calendars, plan deliverables, and contribute to overall media and communications strategy.
- Optimize content for multi-platform distribution (web, social media, YouTube, etc.) and audience segmentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Arts, Animation, Film Production, Communication Design, or a related creative field.
- A Master’s degree or ongoing Master’s program is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years (internships + professional) in advanced video editing, animation, and multimedia content production.
- Demonstrable portfolio of high-quality video content, motion graphics, and visual storytelling across digital platforms.
- Experience using AI tools for content generation (videos, voice, avatars, etc.) is a strong advantage.
- Prior experience in the development, nonprofit, or social impact sector is highly desirable.

About the Engagement
Africa Hub for Innovation and Development (AHFID) is providing technical assistance to support the Green Girl Foundation (GGF) through a critical organizational transition from a project-based initiative into a sustainable, standalone social enterprise with strong governance, operational readiness, and a diversified funding base.
This role is central to the day-to-day implementation and coordination of this institutional strengthening engagement. The Technical Associate will act as the on-ground project focal point, ensuring that strategic recommendations are translated into practical actions, timelines are met, and stakeholders remain aligned throughout implementation.
Role Summary
The Technical Associate (Program Management) will support the planning, coordination, and execution of the institutional strengthening and operationalization roadmap for the Green Girl Foundation.
The role is hands-on and delivery-focused, combining program management, fundraising support, operational coordination, and stakeholder facilitation. The Associate will work closely with AHFID’s technical team and GGF leadership to implement policy frameworks, support fundraising readiness, coordinate program rollout activities, and strengthen operational systems.
This is an associate-level, capacity-building role, ideal for a young professional seeking deep exposure to NGO systems strengthening, social enterprise transition, and donor-facing operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program & Project Management
- Serve as the day-to-day project coordinator for the institutional strengthening engagement between AHFID and GGF.
- Track implementation of agreed workplans, milestones, and timelines aligned with the Green Girl Inception Report and Roadmap
- Support planning, documentation, and follow-up for technical meetings, workshops, and review sessions.
- Maintain a live action tracker for recommendations, risks, and dependencies.
2. Institutional & Operational Strengthening Support
- Support the rollout and internal adoption of organizational policies (e.g., safeguarding, child protection, M&E, fundraising, HR).
- Assist in operationalizing a distinct organizational identity for GGF (emails, documentation systems, internal processes).
- Support the deployment of the revised organogram and reporting lines as new staff are onboarded.
- Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for priority operational areas.
3. Fundraising & Resource Mobilization Support
- Support the grant and resource mobilization function, including:
- Researching donor opportunities.
- Assisting with proposal development, concept notes, and donor submissions.
- Maintaining a structured grant pipeline and tracker.
- Support preparation of Cases for Support, pitch decks, and donor-facing briefs.
- Coordinate internal inputs required for grant applications (program, finance, M&E).

4. Program Implementation & Curriculum Support
- Support coordination of the Green Girls Academy (GGA) curriculum pilot and program rollout activities.
- Assist with documentation, scheduling, and reporting for training and program sessions.
- Track program outputs and early outcomes in collaboration with the M&E function.
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Support
- Act as a liaison between AHFID, GGF leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Support preparation of briefs, presentations, and reports for partners and donors.
- Coordinate with communications teams on content, announcements, and program updates (no campaign execution).
6. Monitoring, Learning & Reporting
- Support basic data collection, documentation, and reporting aligned with the M&E framework.
- Assist in compiling progress reports, donor updates, and internal learning notes.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree (or nearing completion of a Master’s) in International Development, Public Health, Social Sciences, Project Management, or related fields.
- 0–3 years of experience in program support, project coordination, NGO operations, or development consulting.
- Strong interest in organizational development, social enterprise, gender programming, or institutional strengthening.
